SMCT is looking for a youth director for our summer show!
This summer, Swamp Meadow Community Theatre is putting on an all-new one-act comedy adaptation of THE JUNGLE BOOK (July 19-23), written by Audrey Dubois and Shannon McLoud.
In the past, all SMCT children’s theatre productions were led by teenage directors, and we’d like to return to that tradition. We invite younger members of the community to apply to direct the show, under the guidance of a mentor director.
The ideal candidate…
- is in high school or college
- has been involved in theatre before
- is available to be at rehearsals about twice a week until the performances in July
- loves theatre and has a lot of creative vision!
Throughout the process, you’ll be supported by a production team and a mentor. Whether you are a veteran of the stage who wants to start working behind the scenes, an artist who has big plans for costumes and sets, or a Rudyard Kipling fan, we encourage you to apply!
To read the script, please contact Audrey at audrey@studiodubois.com for a digital copy. We ask that you please submit this form by April 1.
