COVID-19 Update 2

Dear Swamp Meadow Community,

We have an update on the remainder of our current season and news about our upcoming season. First off, it is with much disappointment we must postpone Foster Follies. We do not yet know when we will be able to reschedule it but we will keep you posted.

Our spring show Into the Woods is now our fall show. We are working out the exact dates but rehearsals will be through the fall and performances in December. We will post updates to our website when we have worked out the details. We hope that the entire cast will be able to stay with us!

The summer Children’s Theatre show, Schoolhouse Rock, and our Unplugged show Trail to Oregon are both still scheduled for this summer and we hope that that won’t change but, of course, we keep watching what is happening and hope for the best. We will post audition information on our website.

This fall (in November) we will perform our USO Dinner Theater!

We had originally planned to do a 10th anniversary edition of the 2010 Get Merry (the original) this December but with Into the Woods taking that slot, we will move Get Merry to the Holiday season of 2021.

Next spring we are pleased to announce will be the almost-20th anniversary reprise of the first show Swamp Meadow ever performed: Cinderella! More details about that will be available this fall.

It has been heartbreaking to see all of the delays and cancellations of theater companies in and near Rhode Island and we thank you for your continued support of the arts across the entire region. But for now, stay safe, practice social distancing, and always sing in the shower.

All our best,

Andy Affleck, Executive Director, Swamp Meadow Community Theater
