A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream read-through

Join the Swamp Meadow Community Theatre monthly Read-Through Group for our February Zoom reading of A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, written by William Shakespeare! This will be a free, low pressure but high fun script reading.

The play is set in Athens and consists of several subplots that revolve around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. One subplot involves a conflict between four Athenian lovers. Another follows a group of six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the wedding. Both groups find themselves in a forest inhabited by fairies who manipulate the humans and are engaged in their own domestic intrigue.

The event will run February 12th at 7pm (Actors called for 6:30pm) and will be hosted on Zoom; actors must be able to operate Zoom on their own. Character sign-ups will be on a first come, first serve basis. We do not discriminate, so feel free to sign up for whoever you like. Please sign up for one character slot per actor.

If you are unable to sign up or only wish to watch, the read-through will be open to all audiences as we will be streaming the entire reading on our site. This event will be presented free for all, but donations towards Swamp Meadow Community Theatre will be graciously accepted. Contact Assistant Creative Director Tyler H. Vigeant at productions@swampmeadow.org for more info.
